What is Integrative Medicine?

To integrate is to form, coordinate, or blend into a functioning or unified whole.

Integrative Medicine combines different aspects of healthcare into one collaborative model.  This might include the following healthcare providers and services:

  • Organization of providers such as allopathic medical doctors, naturopaths, acupuncturists, psychologists, dieticians, athletic trainers, and massage therapists.

  • Screening tests such as serum hormone analysis, food allergies, metal toxicity, neurotransmitter levels, nutritional analysis and genetic screening.

  • Screening exams such as cardiac calcium CT scans, ultrasound imaging for arterial disease, bio-impedance and muscle testing.

  • Therapy options such as acupuncture, massage, biofeedback, counseling, life coaching, and personal training.

  • Prescriptions beyond the standard medications including a wide variety of supplements, herbs, Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The formal integration of medicine involves not just seeing different providers but having those providers work together to develop a unified, comprehensive treatment plan.

Our medical director, Scott Rollins, MD, is Board Certified with the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.  He collaborates with all our providers in a weekly Collaborative Care Conference where patient treatment is planned.
